Jane Eyre or The Count of Monte Cristo?
I'm going into my freshman year and for honors Language arts summer reading I have to read Great Expectations, 13 Reasons Why and then either Jane Eyre or Monte Cristo. At first I had my mind set on reading Monte Cristo- that was until I found out it was over 1000 pages long. I love to read but clic literature just kind of bores me because I only like history when its actually happened and I'm not big on realistic fiction. I know Jane Eyre is still a good 500 pages but is it more interesting/better than Monte Cristo? I liked the idea of reading Monte Cristo because it has more adventure in it I think and it's not all about romance- but my summer is only a little over 2 months. Which is your favorite of the two and which one do you recommend I read? Is 1200 pages of Monte Cristo worth it?
