Whats the best way to transfer files from an external USB drive to Time Capsule?

HI. I am wanting to copy over some files from my USB external drive to my shared drive on my airport extreme. So far, it says its taking 271 hours just to transfer over. My Airport Extreme is connected wireless to my MBP, but seriously... is there a faster way to do this? I think i am missing some important pieces to this puzzle of mine. Any help?
