Why do African-Americans practice these charades?

They insist that they live in a racist nation in which they face daily hatred and mistreatment for the color of their skin. On the other hand, they themselves often make hateful prejudiced and even racist comments about other races, ethnic groups, and even religions (particularly Judaism). How is it possible that these same people answer negatively to the question: "are you racist?"
